about

['Former Bolcher Work PT.01 2004 – 2008']

Bolcher emerged as a more playful and relaxed side-project of Rawtekk. It was born through a collaboration with close friend Marc Holste, a Minimal Techno DJ of Danish descent. Marc not only contributed to the project but also devised its name, 'Bolcher,' meaning 'candies' in Danish. The song titles were drawn from a Danish train schedule, with each named after a station.

Initially, the songs were produced on Sundays within a span of 2 to 6 hours; a sense of humor and light-heartedness were an integral part of the project. However, this changed when the tracks were released on labels such as Sub Static, Sender, and Syndikaat, where they gained increasing popularity, leading to more frequent booking requests from influential nightclubs.

Marc took charge of the DJ gigs while Stefan continued to produce in the studio. After a number of stand-out performances, a request was made for Pig and Dan to remix ['Bording'] – a minimal, deep acid roller very popular with Bolcher fans.

To this day, ['Snekkersten'] remains one of Stefan and Christine’s favorite techno tracks. It was by far the most elaborate, requiring production over several weeks. This is precisely why ['Snekkersten'] and ['Hammerum'] signify the conclusion of the Bolcher project, which was entirely down to the timing constraints.

Tracklist & Information:

['Snekkersten']: 7:06 intensely abstract minutes of technical, glitchy, dark and groovy, deep house techno.

['Alum']: Be driven deep underground with this Rawtekk favorite; minimal industrial techno with a huge, distorted breakdown.

['Greena']: Epitomizing where the Bolcher project set out from at the start – quirkiness with hints of humor, playful and surprising all the way.

['Lyngs']: Melodic, playful, and unashamedly melancholic – a relaxing, dreamy ride of easy-going Sunday afternoon emotions.

['Tarm']: All aboard a deep and techie runner – despite the warm production, the track carries a distinctly cold, techno mood.

['Bording']: Get to work on this minimal, deep acid roller and dance-floor approved party track.

['Virum']: End-to-end noisy express – abstract, deep and warm with a hypnotic acid line.

['Duemose']: A first-class ride of melancholic dance, deep house – previously unreleased.

Remastered and rebuilt exclusively for the Rawtekk History Collection.

['Hammerum']: An intercity firm favorite of Stefan and Christine, “We love the deep and warm production. The atmospheric pads provide a contrast and give the track a hypnotic coldness and strength.”

['Arden']: A non-stop electronic masterpiece, the first Bolcher release on Substatic and (without the guys noticing) going straight to number 1 on the Beatport charts.

['Saunte']: All signals go on this previously unreleased, groovy, deep minimal house belter.

['Horsens']: Previously unreleased, peak time techno roller with unrelenting acid vibes. Deep, dark, and technoid. Exclusively produced using Steinberg's Halion Sonic 3.

['Bording' (Pig & Dan remix)']: A runaway remix that verges far from the original track while staying firmly on the rails of deep, cold, industrial techno.

Although Bolcher had initially enjoyed a great deal of success, Rawtekk pressed on with their artistic vision and instincts, shifting the focus towards Experimental Electronic Music and Drum & Bass.
